How do I enroll in the program?

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we have shifted our admisssions process from an online nomination to an open application. Interested investors can apply via our online form.

Candidates selected for the next round will be invited to interview before a final decision is made.

What are you looking for in an applicant?

We look for candidates with experience in the investment space and who are interesting in building and growing their local tech ecosystems. Prior attendees have come from VC firms, government-led funds, family offices, angel syndicates, accelerator programs, or are high-net worth individuals looking to diversify their investment portfolio. Candidates should be:

  • Available to commit full-time to two weeks of online coursework
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Focused on identifying and empowering great founders
What are the application and enrollment deadlines for the program?

The general application deadline is September 18. If you are invited to interview and are then accepted, the general program tuition is due by September 25, 2020.

Are there any scholarship opportunities for the accepted applicants?

500 Startups is excited to again be offering two full scholarships ($9,999) for underrepresented early-stage investors, especially women and/or people of color.

Please note: the scholarship deadline has passed and the recipients have been announced.

Does the course require a full-time commitment?

The program will be a mix of live and pre-recorded content. We expect you to dedicate roughly three hours of work per day for the two-week program. Live classes will be held at 8 am PST (subject to change). 

What is the cost of the program?

The general admissions program tuition of $9,999 is due by September 25, 2020.

What is your cancellation policy?
Participants can cancel with a full refund until September 28, 2020. After this day refunds cannot be issued. However, credit can be transferred to the next iteration of the program in 2021.
Where will the program take place?

VC Unlocked: Silicon Valley Online is a remote program and will be conducted on the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s online learning portal to offer an immersive experience.
