How do I enroll in the program?

You are invited to fill out the application found here. Once the Admissions Committee reviews the application, selected applicants will be invited to interview with our team. If accepted, candidates can then enroll in the cohort.

What are you looking for in an applicant?
Applicants should meet the following criteria: Have at least 1 year of investment experience; Be able to commit to two weeks (10 full days) of coursework; Be proficient in written and spoken English; Be focused on identifying and empowering great entrepreneurs in their ecosystems.
We look for candidates with experience in the investment space and who are interesting in building and growing their local tech ecosystems. Prior attendees have come from VC firms, government-led funds, family offices, angel syndicates, accelerator programs, or are high-net worth individuals looking to diversify their investment portfolio.
What are the application and enrollment deadlines for the program?

The early application and scholarship deadline is August 7. If you are invited to interview and are then accepted, the early admissions tuition is due by August 21, 2020.

The general application deadline is September 9. If you are invited to interview and are then accepted, the general program tuition is due by September 14, 2020.

Are there any scholarship opportunities for the accepted applicants?

500 Startups is excited to again be offering two full scholarships ($9,999) for underrepresented early-stage investors, especially women and/or people of color.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must complete their early application and fill our the supplemental scholarship questions by August 7, 2020.

The scholarships will be announced at the end of the application process, but it is recommended that applicants submit their responses as early as possible.

Does the course require a full-time commitment?

The program will include daily classes with live 80 minute sessions taking place on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Classes on Tuesday and Thursday will be recorded content.

We expect you to commit XX amount of hours for the two-week program.

What is the cost of the program?

The early admissions program fee is $7,999 and due by August 21, 2020. The general admissions program fee of $9,999 is due by September 14, 2020.

Payments will be made through Stanford’s Online payment portal.
